The Value of The Resource Box in Article Marketing Practice

Many online marketers who are regularly engaged in article marketing techniques as part of their search engine optimization campaign, will work hard on creating a well written article yet spend little effort on the resource box, often just filling it with links that may never be clicked...

During the last couple of years many webmasters have discovered that one of the best forms of Search Engine Optimization comes through the benefits of article marketing. More and more website owners and operators have seen the benefits that article marketing has brought to their websites in terms of better quality one way links which improves search engine ranking. A resource box is usually found at the end of an article, and will typically contain the name of the author, a brief biography of the author and a link to the source of the article, with the anchor text of the link containing the website keywords. In the case of a resource box where html is not allowed, a simple url link will suffice. Very often, the article writer in his haste to get his article completed, will simply enter his name and a handful of links to either his website or his favorite affiliate program. This practice has no place in the article marketing arena, for the following reasons. The links will often be ignored by the reader and also the article can be rejected by the publisher for misuse of the resource box.

If a reader has enjoyed reading the content of your article, he or she will often have the tendency to find out where the article came from to read more articles by the same writer. The resource box is their connection to the source of the article and a well constructed resource box may entice them to go to the site and find out more or research the subject or topic they are obviously interested in.

So what would be considered good content for your resource box? Well it is good article marketing practice to include your chosen article keywords or keyword phrases. Even in the author biography information it is not difficult to slip in your keywords. Give thought to your resource box content and make it work for you and your website. You won't have a lot of space to write too much but try to make it intriguing for the reader. Always leave them wanting to know more. Overall, your article marketing campaigns will enjoy a higher level of success.

The majority of article marketing experts will agree that the resource box is where you get the opportunity to build your credibility as a writer and thereby increase your traffic with highly targeted visitors. Remember, you only get one chance to wow these potential customers.. and hundreds of chances to turn them off.

Now imagine if you could get just one in four readers of your article to click on the resource box links and visit your site. If you have ten articles with many copies distributed across the internet, this little article marketing exercise can bring you an extra thousand visitors each week. Never underestimate the power of your resource box. It may be small in size but will provide a significant aid in driving highly targeted traffic to your site. Spend time on the resource box and be fun and creative yet at the same time show that your site has much to offer. It makes for good article marketing practice and you'll see the benefits in the long run.
